Bio
Valerie Casteel taught middle and high school math for approximately 30 years in the State of Texas. She enjoyed teaching Algebra I, Geometry, and Math Models, specializing in the remediation of unmastered standards through data-driven interventions with-in the school day, research-based tier one instruction, and creative classroom activities. After ten years, Valerie gradually taught less classes per day moving into the roles Math TAKS Coordinator, EOC Coordinator, and Math/Science Instructional Coach enabling Valerie to facilitate countless interventions and provide additional support of teachers through pull-outs, push-ins, teacher-led small group instruction, and more. After receiving her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Mathematics and Principal Certification, Valerie worked as a STEM Math Coordinator, Response to Intervention Facilitator, STAAR Testing Coordinator, and Assistant Principal. She is enjoying retirement but looks forward to presenting as a T3 Regional Instructor and teaching math here and there. Once a math teacher always a math teacher!
