I am Deb Anguiano. I hold an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physical Education from Texas Wesleyan College. I hold a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in Teaching Mathematics and School Administration from Texas Wesleyan University. I am presently in the ABD (All But Dissertation) stage of my doctoral studies at Texas Wesleyan University. I have been instructing for over 36 years. I have instructed all levels of Mathematics and Physical Education for grades 6 through 12 and have over seven years of experience at the university level. I have coached both varsity and sub-varsity volleyball teams. I have served as the head coach for Varsity Softball and as the assistant coach for Varsity Basketball, in addition to coaching Number Sense, Calculator, and Mathematics for UIL Academics. I instructed at Texas Wesleyan University from spring 2019 to spring 2021. I instructed courses in Mathematics for Liberal Arts Majors, College Algebra, and Pre-Calculus. I have been teaching at Howard Payne University since the fall of 2021. I am passionate about my position at Howard Payne University and value my affiliation with the institution.
While I possess the qualifications to instruct any undergraduate Mathematics and education courses, my specialization lies in assisting students who have difficulties in mathematics and training educators in effective math instruction. My passion lies in ensuring that my students understand mathematics rather than just perform mathematical operations. I instruct Mathematics as a linguistic system.
