Dr. Alison J. Mello is a nationally recognized author, math consultant, and speaker known for her work supporting student-centered math instruction, her down-to-earth style, and powerful professional learning experiences. As a former struggling math student turned math teacher, math specialist, curriculum director, and Assistant Superintendent, she uses her passion for meaningful math instruction to support teachers and districts. She is the co-author of Fluency Doesn’t Just Happen, A Teacher’s Guide to Math Workshop, Working with the Beaded Number Line, and Math Workshop Plus, and the forthcoming Building Better Math Instruction: A Toolkit for Leaders. She founded the Get Your Workshop on Math Conference, which aims to bring joy to math instruction and provide teachers and leaders with the support they need, in the format they want.
