Dr. Cheryl Kerr is the High School Math Coordinator at Alvin ISD in Texas and serves as President of the Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics (TASM) and President of the Houston Mathematics Leadership Network (HMLN). She partners with secondary educators to strengthen K–12 mathematics through modeling, meaningful discourse, and collaborative instructional practices.
She earned her Ed.D. from Texas A&M University (May 2025) with a focus on secondary math teacher retention, holds an M.Ed. from the University of Houston, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Texas. With 22 years in education, she began as a junior high math teacher before advancing to high school department chair and district coordinator.
Dr. Kerr presents statewide through CAMT, TASM, Region 4, and Lead4ward on mastery strategies, formative questioning, and small-group instruction, and is committed to advancing mathematics leadership across Texas.
