Latrenda Knighten is a retired Mathematics Curriculum Supervisor in Baton Rouge, LA. She has been an educator for more than 30 years and is an active member of many professional organizations. She currently serves as the NCTM President-Elect (2023-2024) and is a member of the Mathical Book Prize Selection Committee. Latrenda is also a past member of the NCSM (Mathematics Education Leaders) Board of Directors and the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) Board of Directors. She is a co-author of two books: Classroom-Ready Rich Math Tasks, Grades K - 1 and Five to Thrive: Answers to Your Biggest Questions About Teaching Elementary Math, K-5.
