NCTM’s Eight Effective Math Practices give teachers a foundation in which to build solid Tier 1 instruction, but finding or creating tasks be a daunting. In this session, participants will engage in Open Middle tasks in grades 6 through Algebra 1 while exploring how the tasks lend themselves to NCTM’s Effective Teaching Practices. Participants will walk away with easy to implement strategies to use with Open Middle tasks as well as other helpful tools.
