In this session, Beyond Tricks: Building a K-12 Math Alliance, we’ll explore how our district developed a unified K-12 Math Pact inspired by Karen Karp, Sarah Bush, and Barbara Dougherty's work. Recognizing the need to "nix the tricks" and move beyond outdated or misleading shortcuts, we carefully identified rules and practices that no longer serve today’s students. Through collaborative efforts, we built a cohesive, district-wide Math Pact that promotes a deeper understanding of math concepts across grade levels. Join us to learn how our K-12 Math Alliance supports consistent, aligned instruction and fosters true mathematical comprehension, equipping students with reliable tools for long-term success.
