Why is Order of Operations so hard for students? Because, instead of just being told the "order" of calculating, students need opportunities to create expressions so that they can write, and evaluate, them correctly. And, the "P" in PEMDAS doesn't encompass middle grade "grouping" symbols. Join this session to learn strategies that will help students understand, and practice, order of operations using collaborative games.
