
In this presentation, we explore the power of building a collaborative math community where students are encouraged to actively engage in sharing their perspective, thoughts, and ideas. We will demonstrate how technology can allow the teacher to monitor and select student responses, giving the opportunity to facilitate the connection of ideas between and among student solutions, developing a deeper mathematical understanding through meaningful discourse.
Participants will engage in activities designed to encourage diverse responses and perspectives, followed by facilitated discussions aimed at learning from each other’s ideas and experiences. They will explore how the Desmos platform enables teachers to collect, organize, and present student responses to spark meaningful classroom discussions.
