Place value concepts lay the foundation for success in all areas of the math curriculum.  Come prepared to play games and learn strategies that help teach the following concepts:  composing/decomposing numbers from the millions to the thousandths, comparing and ordering whole numbers and decimals, rounding, expanding numbers, number line activities.  Games integrate the use of cards, regular dice, shakers, place value dice, number lines and even red solo cups!  If your students are struggling with multi-digit operational fluency and place value concepts these activities will help students rebuild and develop deep understanding of place value before paper and pencil practice.  Games are easy to differentiate to meet the needs of all students.  Gameboards and concept skill checklists for assessment will be shared.
